| A great view looking all the way down the west shore of San Francisco. Of course, this is an older postcard of the area. It shows a part of Playland-at-the-Beach amusement center which not is around anymore. The large dark area to the left of middle is the western end of Golden Gate Park. The long concrete walkway (promenande) and break water is still around and greatly helps keep sand from blowing off the beach. The hills in the far distance are down by Pedro Point in San Mateo County. The picture was taken from atop Sutro Heights Park and only a couple of hundred yards from Seal Rock Inn. |
